What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Roland J. Down Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most usual air conditioning problems in Albany.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner working but there isn’t cool air being produced, you may need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Roland J. Down Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second matter to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these things, you may be able to pinpoint the issue; if not, give Roland J. Down Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause significant cooling problems. Another thing that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Roland J. Down Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be back in business. Remember that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Roland J. Down Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
