The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was thrilled to donate over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.
“Last year, I had the opportunity to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go beyond collecting food – they are an essential part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent her younger years wondering if and where she would get her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they get to create nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume help along with budgeting and job classes to help families get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.
“All the team members were so thrilled that we had this food drive for them, and they even took time to show us their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
