Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both painting two of their service vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be giving 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help fight breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans in addition to giving $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to raise funds for breast cancer. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his workers both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the number of cases is actually going down each year, that still represents a large number of families who are grappling with this disease, and there is still an urgent need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, seconded Schneider’s feelings. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in our state – for women and men.”
